Another year is coming to a close. We thought we would give you a brief overview of what HR pros accomplished in 2013: HR pros celebrated 5 years in business in October – Thank you for your support!
We launched “Webinar Wednesday”, a free webinar open to all, the third Wednesday of each month. The schedule is on our website!
HR pros proudly launched its socially conscious “Referral Program”. Both the referrer and the referee are rewarded. Concomitantly, HR pros may take the reward amount and make a donation to the charity of the referrer’s or referee’s choice. For information check HR pros’ Facebook page or call Sylvain.
HR pros provided expert human resources management, safety and training solutions to clients throughout NS, NB, PE, PQ, ON and in BC. Our clients are from all industry sectors and from not-for-profit organizations.
We conducted our first national Wage and Benefit survey.
We developed what might be the only Apprenticeship-specific appraisal system; certainly the only one we have seen.
HR pros starting building a stand-alone training services division! Watch for more on this in early January.
Greg Cole, CHRP – Senior Consultant joined HR pros as a Senior Consultant, HR and Training.
Greg has been a lecturer at both the university and college levels. He has worked in human resources within the professional services and telecom industries, specifically, and among others. Since joining he has developed and delivered customized training solutions throughout NS and NB.
Greg is a longtime Canadian Progress Club – Halifax member and coordinated the educational component of the 2013 National Canadian Progress Club convention.He also joined the Ward 5 Neighbourhood Centre Board of Directors.
Greg recertified to the national Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation in October 2013.
Angela O’Connell – Senior WCB, HR, OH&S Consultant, has taken on a larger client-facing role and is building her WCB practice.
Angela saved our clients easily $180,000.00 in WCB expenses through expert case file management and appeals! Fair to say she has the attention of the WCB!
Angela was a subject matter expert presenters at the “Disability and Accommodation” INFONEX conference.
Angela became a Director on the board of the Elizabeth Frye Society.
Tanya Sieliakus, CHRP – VP Consulting Services was guest speaker at the Canadian Construction Association AGM in March; she spoke about motivating the different generations. She was also at the Roxul general meeting in ON in November. Roxul have recently started operating in the US and Tanya spoke about “Diversity as a Competitive Business Advantage”.
Tanya was a subject matter expert presenters at the “Disability and Accommodation” INFONEX conference in November.
Tanya presented “Recruitment – Improving Your Efforts” at the annual International Association Administrative Professionals (IAAP) conference; her third year presenting human resources management to the group.
Tanya Sieliakus became a Director on the board of Epilepsy Association of Nova Scotia and Chair of the Adult Services Committee. She also became a Director on the board of Entrepreneur’s with Disabilities Network and Chairs the Member Services, Governance and Personnel committees.
Tanya recertified to the national Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation in October 2013.
Sylvain Allaire, CHRP – VP Sales and Marketing was a guest speaker at the at the Forum on Immigration of the Conseil de Développement Économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse in March.
Sylvain was re-elected President of the Francophone Chamber of Commerce of Halifax.
He also became a Director on the board of Alianco, a not-for-profit organization that promotes the translation industry in Atlantic Canada.
Sylvain helped organized the 1st French language debate in Nova Scotia during the last provincial election.
Sylvain was the Chair of the Local Organizing Committee for the 2013 SportChek National Club Soccer Championships in Halifax 9-14 October 2013.
