This\u00a0half day\u00a0session will introduce business owners to how to strategically avoid unionization.\u00a0The workshop will examine:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Why People Join Unions \u2013 It\u2019s Not Always Why You Think<\/li>\n<li>Why You Want To Be Union Free \u2013 So Many Bottom Line Reasons<\/li>\n<li>The Process of Unionization \u2013 Avoiding Illegal Conduct<\/li>\n<li>Union Avoidance \u2013 Real Strategy<\/li>\n<li>If You\u2019ve Got It Flaunt It \u2013 Negating The Union Threat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Learning Outcomes: Participants will leave this session able to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand why employees turn to unions in the first place;<\/li>\n<li>Explain the impact to the bottom line if a unionization drive is successful;<\/li>\n<li>Describe the process their business would experience if a union drive occurred and be aware of exactly what behaviours are and are not allowed by both owners, management and employees;<\/li>\n<li>Create an effective operational strategy in order to minimize the attractiveness of a union environment in their business; and<\/li>\n<li>List the factors they can specifically highlight to achieve the above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Traditionally manufacturing and the public service have been the targets of union efforts.
